In light of rising geopolitical tensions and active deployment of hypersonic weapons such as the Kinzhal against Ukraine by Vladimir Putin, Israel's Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has made a crucial breakthrough with the development of the first-of-its-kind "Sky Sonic," an advanced interceptor specifically designed to intercept hypersonic projectiles, including Iran's new Fattah.

This technological advance is critical given the unique challenges posed by hypersonic weapons, including their ability to maneuver at unprecedented speeds (up to Mach 15) and change their course mid-flight, making them extremely difficult to detect and intercept with existing defense systems.
